Banu numbers in brief
- One glyph = one number: Banu script has its own sign for each numeral.
- The 11 core numerals cover 0 to 10 — learn these first.
- Past 10, a mark is added to the digit: a “foot” multiplies it by 10 (3 → 30), a “crown” by 100 (3 → 300).
- A large number is the sum of these signs, written largest to smallest: 236 = 200 + 30 + 6.
